Today/Friday you learned about the trade routes and transportation of the ancient Mesopotamians. To deepen your understanding, you may want to watch the video again (link below). Leave a message about something you learned that was interesting or unusual.
Math: Compile a list of when and where Percent is used in real life. Give examples e.g. Interest is calculated on a bank balance in percent. The current balance on a savings account is about 1%.
Social Studies: Bonus activity - Write your name, or something interesting, in Cuneiform.
French: 'Emotions' worksheet due mardi.
Fine Arts: work on your perspective art, due Friday.
Jump Rope for Heart on Monday - bring your Fundraiser forms and skipping ropes.
RCMP - Finish warning tickets for speeding.

I am soooooo tired, but it's Friday, so I can stay up late. I thought that it was interesting that the Sumerians would go as far as Egypt and across the Persian Gulf, just to trade items. That's a long way to go. I hope everyone has a good weekend, byee!

I found that 'Scarab Necklace" quite interesting because the scarab is a special symbol of the Egyptians. I find it interesting that the Egyptians have a bug as a symbol. I don't think of it as weird though because the egyptians could think oh why do Canadians have a beaver as a symbol. That was what stood out to me right on the spot. Well have a good weekend everyone and I will see you all on Monday! Yay almost easter!

From the video I learned that the Sumarians invented the wheel and also there is a boat called a Guffa. It can only go downstream. It had to be taken apart and carried back home because it didn't go upstream. Bye.

The thing that I found interesting was that the Mesopotamians had a trading centre where they come and trade with everyone I found that really cool.

The thing I found was interesting was the guff. I found it was interesting because it could only go with the flow of the river. I wish the weekend would last longer. Bye :3

I think the pirates in the gulf is very interesting. Not meaning it's good as having a long journey then getting everything stolen wouldn't be.

The one time I comment late!
I didn't know pirates were such a problem. I thought TV and Books just made it seem bigger/worse than it already was.
Oh, im so tired but I have to do that percentages thing, oh well, that's what I get for commenting late!

Something i learned was in ancient mesopitamia was that there were many dangers about crossing the persian gulf. An example of percent being used in really life when you are counting up votes for e.g who will be the next president.

The maps we are doing are pretty easy to do. I can't wait for Jump Rope For Heart. The percents were pretty easy, I got a good list.
